The Big Scoop Story
The Big Scoop all started back when we first opened RJ’s Diner, which included a cozy little ice cream parlour. Right from the beginning, our ice cream became a hit — and before long, we were being invited to serve it at local events all over town.
When we made the tough decision to close RJ’s, we held onto much of our catering and ice cream equipment, knowing in our hearts that our journey with the community wasn’t over. That’s when The Big Scoop was born — a fun, feel-good way for us to continue showing up for our community while supporting Simple Dreams and its mission to help those in need.
In the early days, we packed up our freezers and took them wherever they were needed — from the annual Home Show to Canada Day Market Square Celebrations in Stratford and so many events in between. It was a lot of work, but it brought us so much joy to see the smiles our ice cream could bring.
Then in 2022, we took things to the next level. We invested in a fully branded, mobile ice cream trailer — making it easier (and even more fun) to pop up at events and continue sharing sweet moments while raising support for a cause close to our hearts.
